Debuting a new generation for 2018, the Elantra GT is one handsome hatch, and its subtle details give it an attractive European style. A 161-hp 2.0-liter four pairs to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Ride comfort is prioritized over corner-carving prowess and its hatchback body gives it 25 cubic feet of cargo space, 11 more than the Elantra sedan. An 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and navigation are optional.
The storied 8-series is back, and BMW has packed it with as much muscle as it can in a beguiling, windswept package. Its twin-turbo V-8 engine pulls strong, and its revived steering feel is a revelation. Adaptive dampers, active anti-roll bars, rear-wheel steering, and a locking rear differential heighten the experience further; the interior offers all the infotainment gadgetry and luxury features expected in a high-priced grand touring coupe. Expect to see the 8-series at dealers in fall 2018.
